ASKERN MUSIC FESTIVAL PARTNERS WITH TEENAGE CANCER TRUST FOR 2020 EVENT
On 11th July 2020 Askern Music Festival will return to Askern Miners Welfare Cricket Club, and for the first time the festival will be raising funds for the charity Teenage Cancer Trust.
2020 will be the festival’s 5th year of live music in the South Yorkshire village. Delivering big names year on year in an accessible atmosphere, the one-day festival is the fastest growing of its kind in Yorkshire and is now expected to welcome over 3,000 guests to its main and acoustic stage in 2020.
In line with the growth of the Festival, they have forged a partnership with Teenage Cancer Trust, the UK’s only charity which provides specialist nursing care and emotional support to teenagers and young adults with cancer. The partnership is set to debut this summer, helping raise funds and awareness of the work the charity does in South Yorkshire at this year’s festival and beyond.
Dale Tomlinson, Regional Fundraiser for Yorkshire and The Humber at Teenage Cancer Trust said:
“Askern Music Festival is an absolutely brilliant event, unique in that it is able to attract big names but retain an accessible atmosphere that both families and music fans can enjoy. To be able to partner up with the festival is a great opportunity for us to reach thousands of young people and families and raise important funds to ensure that no young person faces cancer alone across the region.
“We’re so grateful to the organisers for choosing to support Teenage Cancer Trust and for encouraging their patrons to support us on their website, and through allowing us to have a presence on the day. Our plans are already looking great and will certainly add to the festival atmosphere! Teenage Cancer Trust are the only UK charity dedicated to providing specialist nursing and emotional support for young people with cancer, and support like this helps us get closer to our goal of reaching every young person who needs us.”
Andy O’Grady, one of the organisers behind Askern Music Festival said:
“Askern Music Festival is approaching its 5th festival and growing rapidly each year. We’re so excited and proud that we can partner our festival with such a fantastic charitable cause. With each other’s support we can push our brands forward and create a strong partnership for the foreseeable future.
“Over the coming weeks we will be developing a means for our ticket holders to donate to the Trust through our website and working to help integrate some fundraising opportunities into the festival itself.”
Bang Bang Romeo, fresh off their European tour with Pink, were the first act to be announced on the 27th of November, with more announcements on the way in the near future. To find out more about the event, head over to www.askernmusicfestival.co.uk, where early bird tickets are available now!
